About Lent
Lent will soon be upon us. We should be thinking about how we can join with the Church as it moves from Ash Wednesday through to Holy Week and then on to Easter.
This year Ash Wednesday falls on the 22nd February. We would love it if everyone would come to Church and join in a Eucharist Service which includes the Imposition of Ashes. We have arranged Services at different times of the day in each of our Churches so that there is an opportunity for everyone to come one or other of our Services.
Throughout the world, Lent is marked by a time of preparation and of thought. Often we, like many other Churches, have arranged a “Lent Course” for our parishioners to go along to. However, this year, it is going to be different. Bishop Paul is going to be nearby in Wollaton and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to go along and hear what he has to say about prayer. It’s going to be popular and we have been asked to provide the Deanery with an idea of the numbers likely to attend. So if you are thinking of attending these meeting, please let Mandy or the churchwardens know well in advance so they can book a seat for you. Thanks.
